The Orators are very lucky to have
such a dedicated and knowledgeable
individual oversee all of our home
matches. Mike's extensive research and
knowledge on both the vintage game
and O'Rourke himself make him one of
the most qualified and well respected
officiant's in all of vintage base ball
today. Mr. Roer's Biography on
O'Rourke was very much the inspiration
behind forming the recreated Orators.
Not only does he call an excellent game,
Mr. Roer's contributions extend off the
field providing the Orators with
guidance, instruction and a good meal
on several occasions after some of
'Vintage' Joe's long practices. Mike may
not be a position player, but he is
undoubtedly considered an important
member of our team. We all owe Mike
three cheers for a job well done. On
behalf of all of the Orators, we thank
